KPK, police discuss Korlantas dossier handover

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has yet to receive from the National Police the dossier on the graft case surrounding the procurement in 2011 of driving simulators by the National Police Traffic Corps (Korlantas).

Just one day ago, KPK deputy chief Busyro Muqoddas hinted that the police would be delivering the dossier on Thursday.

“The simulators case dossier has not yet been handed over to the KPK. However, a KPK team visited the National Police headquarters today to discuss things relating to the handover,” KPK spokesman Johan Budi said as quoted by Antara news agency.

Included in the discussion were the detention mechanism for suspects in the case, and the case transfer.

Johan added that KPK investigators would proceed with their questioning of former Korlantas chief, Ins. Gen. Djoko Susilo, the main suspect in the scandal, after the transfer was complete.

The ongoing investigation has been in limbo ever since the National Police insisted on launching their own probe into the case, which implicates two active-duty police generals; a move that many believed violated Article 50 of the Corruption Law that grants sole authority to the KPK to investigate graft cases.
