Yudhoyono to inaugurate 8 MP3EI projects in E. Kalimantan

Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono: (Tribunnews/Danny Permana)Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono: (Tribunnews/Danny Permana)President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono will inaugurate eight big projects in relation to the Master Plan for the Acceleration and Expansion of Indonesia’s Economic Development (MP3EI) in Balikpapan, East Kalimantan, on Wednesday, according to a local official.

East Kalimantan governor Awang Faroek Ishak said that the President will arrive in Balikpapan on Tuesday, one day before the inaugurations.

"There are eight MP3EI projects that will be inaugurated by the President," Awang said Sunday.

Among the projects are container terminals in the Kariangau industrial area in Balikpapan and Kalimarau airport in Berau—north of East Kalimantan.

Yudhoyono will also inaugurate the groundbreaking of six projects, including: the expansion of Sepinggan Airport in Balikpapan, Pertamina Centralized Crude Terminal (CCT) Lawe-Lawe in Penajam Paser Utara, twin bridges in Samarinda, the Industrial Estate and the Port International Maloy in East Kutai, the development of PT Pupuk Kaltim-5, Bontang and the new Samarinda airport (BSB) at Sei Siring, Samarinda.

The inaugurations will be centered at Kariangau Container Terminal, Balikpapan.

On his way to Balikpapan, the President will make transits in Manggarai, East Nusa Tenggara and Yogyakarta. (swd)
