State-Owned Enterprises Minister Dahlan Iskan says he will urge executives of state-owned companies to file reports with the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).

Dahlan previously said he would not act upon reports from the executives claiming that lawmakers had demanded money from them.

"I don't want people think that I'm trying to clean up corruption within the House instead of my own institution," Dahlan told reporters after a two-hour closed-door meeting with the House's ethics council on Monday.

However, he agreed to urge the executives to file complaints with the anticorruption body immediately, because it has great potential to reveal corrupt practices that might cause state losses.

Speaking to journalists, Dahlan said that he had submitted the names of three lawmakers who allegedly demanded kickbacks from SOE executives for budget approval.

"I fully trust the House's ethics council to further investigate the case," he continued, declining to disclose the names.(iwa)
