The Indonesian Survey Institute (LSI) declared Ahmad Heryawan and Deddy Mizwar, of the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS), winners of the West Java gubernatorial election. “We express congratulations to them,” said the LSI’s director for research, Hendro Prasetyo, at Hotel Homann in Bandung, Sunday.

He said that over 90 percent of samples of votes taken from 300 polling stations in 26 regencies and municipalities for the quick count had been counted by his team.

“The graphics have been stable. There will be no reverse in the count results,” said Hendro.

From the quick count, Ahmad Heryawan-Deddy Miswar takes a lead over the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P) candidate, Rieke Diah Pitaloka and antigraft activist, Teten Masduki, by 33.1 percent to 27.4.
