Pertamina, Pelni ink $ 2.6 million lubricant contract

State-owned shipping companies PT Pelayaran Nasional Indonesia (Pelni) and solid state-owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina signed on Friday a Rp 26 billion (US $ 2.6 million) contract in which Pertamina Pelni, lubricated for daily operational applications.

Pelni President Director Jussabella Sahea signed the three-year contract in Jakarta with Pertamina marketing and trading Director Hanung Budya. The contract required 10 Pelni ships to use Pertamina lubricant.

"We want to show our appreciation to Pelni for trusting Pertamina. We are committed to providing the best service and high quality products at competitive prices. This is a good example of cooperation between State-owned enterprises, "said Hanung.

In the first phase delivers Pertamina the 10 ships, each with 50,000 to 100,000 litres of lubricant that can be complemented by 30,000 liters each, said Hanung.

Separately, Jussabella said that only 10 of the Pelni 25 ships, currently Pertamina lubricants used. He went on to say that if the three-year contract turned out to be a success, the company Pertamina lubricants could in the remaining 15 ships use.

Pertamina is currently the largest lubricant producer in Indonesia with an annual production capacity of 600,000 kilos liters and a domestic market share of 60 percent.

Pertamina exports its lubricants to 24 countries.(dic)
