UN: Chemical researchers ready to go to Syria

UN chief Ban Ki-moon that inspectors are ready to deploy to Syria within 24 hours to investigate reported says chemical weapon attacks two years of civil war in the country, but do not have permission yet from President Bashar Assad Government.

Ban says reports on the use of chemical weapons in Syria "should be investigated immediately, unconditionally and without exceptions."

Ban said Monday, however, that the United Nations still involved in "technical and legal" negotiations with Syria on the mobilisation of the chemical research team is.

Ban spoke at the headquarters of the Organization for the prohibition of chemical weapons in the Hague.
