The Yogyakarta tourism agency is planning to organize a tourism package to encourage participants to walk while enjoying nature. The package, dubbed as “Exploring Nature Tourism (JSA) 2013”, will commence on June 16.
“The event will take place at the tourism spot of Srigethuk, Playen, Gunung Kidul regency,” event organizer Mohammad Haliem said on Saturday, according to Antara news agency.
He said the Sri Gethuk tourism park was famous for its waterfall as well as eucalyptus and teak forests. He added that it was expected that tourists could explore the park on foot and walk around the village to enjoy the scenery, including the hamlets, and other interesting spots.
“We expect some 3,000 participants from all over Indonesia. All ages can attend the event,” Haliem said. Besides Sri Gethuk, Gunung Kidul is also famous for its pristine beaches and caving activities. (nai/dic)
