Singapore’s Changi International Airport diverted four flights to Batam’s Hang Nadim in the Riau Islands on Sunday due to bad weather.

Hang Nadim general affairs division head Suwarso said that the diversions were made around midday.

“There were four flights diverted to Batam. Bad weather in Changi made it impossible for them to land in that airport,” he said as quoted by kompas.com.

Hand Nadim International Airport is the closest airport to Changi. Its 4,010 meters long runway is able to accommodate wide-body aircraft. A Qantas’s Airbus A380 made an emergency landing in Hang Nadim in August. (swd)
