Tangerang employees, locals attack factory, owner-occupied dwellings and head of the village

Irritated by alleged "slavery" conditions in a kitchen tool factory in Sepatan Timur, Tangerang, dozens of workers, assisted by local residents, attacked and damaged the factory facilities on Monday.

The workers, grouped under Benteng leather, clothing and textiles workers Association (SPTSK) and the All-Indonesia Workers Union (SPSI), damaged production equipment at the factory and the factory fence broken off.

The crowd later damaged the home of Juki Irawan, the owner of the factory, next to the factory, before going on to focus on the House of Mursan, the head of the village, which is a relative of the owner of the factory.

She had settled in a motorcycle convoy to Lebak Wangi village Administration Office looking for Mursan, but as the village head was absent, she remained the convoy to his hometown, not far from the Office.
