SBY replaces Anas as Party Chairman

The Democratic Party extraordinary Congress has Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono appointed as the new Chairman of the party, to replace Anas Urbaningrum who resigned on the corruption eradication Commission (KPK) February after investigation that saw him as a suspect in a case of bribery.

Most of the Congress believe that only Yudhoyono the possibility the impetus of the party of both the image and the performance before the elections of 2014.

"We believe completely that is only Pak SBY that can unite the party and encourage all elements of the party to bounce back," said Nangroe Aceh Darussalam head of Democratic Party Warsidy Nurdin as quoted by kompas.com.

The Congress also rubber stamped Anas Urbaningrum resigned as Party Chairman. Amir Syamsuddin said that the party Anas work as Chairman of the party by 2010.

"I would like the party gratitude to Abate for his service in this party until February 2013," he said.

Anas was allegedly also in Bali during the Congress but according to party colleague Gede Pasek Suardika was not there for the Congress. "He is on vacation now," he said.(dic)
